When people dine out, there are a ton of options available. That’s why it’s so important to stay on top of what diners are looking for because they are voting with their dollars every time they set foot in a restaurant, order takeout or hit the drive-through.
Overall, 83% of diners want and expect great tasting food. That’s certainly no surprise. What is worth noting, is they expect this level of food from both fast casual and quick service restaurants. For food service operators, this means you need to make sure you’re providing a good level of quality regardless of the price point and type of restaurant.
Research also shows us that 34% of diners look for ingredients that are made in the U.S.A. When it comes to perception, 37% of diners agree that Fast Casual Mexican Restaurants provide ingredients that are made in the U.S.A. On the flip side of that, around 20% of diners agree that Mexican QSR and Fast Casual Chinese Restaurants underperform in regard to ingredients made in the U.S.A.
